Jack has been doing biopharma marketing for more than 4 decades. He has extensive experience in development, disease education, prelaunch and launch experience in virtually every therapeutic category in the industry. He’s worked on the launch of more than 100 biopharma products and has worked on rare disease products for 30 years.
In 2000, Jack co-founded Group DCA, an innovative leader in providing interactive and digital solutions to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. At Group DCA, he pioneered the application of interactive techniques to adult learning theory, created the concept of online active learning, and leveraged digital technology to more effectively educate healthcare professionals and consumers.
Before starting Group DCA, Jack was president/COO of Euro RSCG Healthview, president of McCann-Erickson Consumer Health, chief strategy officer for McCann-Erickson WorldHealth, and the founder of The BioGenesis Group, the first and most successful marketing communications and consulting company focused on the biotechnology industry.
Personal experience with rare disease
Like many individuals in the rare disease world, he also has deep personal experience with rare diseases. In the 1990s, Jack’s maternal aunt was diagnosed with ALS after a long diagnostic journey. Soon after she passed away, his uncle was also diagnosed with ALS and eventually succumbed to the disease. In the 2000s, Jack’s father-in-law, who lived close by, was diagnosed with late-onset Huntington’s disease, and he experienced the personal and family struggles first-hand. And then, about 10 years ago, one of his sons was diagnosed with an extremely rare condition, the Carney-Stratakis Syndrome. His motivation to improve patient, caregiver, and healthcare professional education is driven by his personal experiences
